The Trail of the Snake Band(1913)

The Trail of the Snake Band is a silent Western following Chuck Peters, a gambling man caught in a love triangle with Nell Braley, daughter of the local saloon keeper. Nell's heart belongs to Bob Coleman, a cattleman, leaving Chuck's affections unrequited. When an express messenger is robbed in the woods, the bandit flees and drops a distinctive snake hatband at the scene. Coleman later finds the hatband and, unaware of its significance, adds it to his sombrero. The discovery sets off a chain of suspicion and mistaken identity that drives the film's tension, as the snake hatband becomes the key to unraveling the mystery of the robbery and its consequences for everyone involved.
