Payback Season is a British crime drama following Jerome, a footballer who escapes his council estate roots for stardom on the pitch. His rise seems complete until his former gang tracks him down, demanding he pay them off regularly. Jerome discovers that leaving his old life behind comes with a price—literally. As the gang's demands grow, he's caught between protecting his newfound success and the violent world he thought he'd left. The film explores how far a man will go to keep his past from destroying his future, and whether escape is ever truly possible.
