Basic Love(2009)

Basic Love is a Hong Kong drama about three friends caught in an unspoken love triangle. Ling secretly battles leukaemia while her best friends Rex and June remain unaware of her illness. Introverted June harbours quiet feelings for Rex, who doesn't return them. When Rex enters a songwriting competition and pens a love song about someone mysterious, the group's emotional tensions simmer beneath the surface. Everything changes when Ling's hospitalisation forces the friends to finally confront what they've been avoiding. The film explores how silence and unspoken feelings can bind people together, even as they drift apart.
