Blindness(2016)

Blindness is a Polish historical drama exploring a little-known chapter in the life of Julia Brystiger, a feared Stalinist secret police officer infamous for her brutal interrogation methods. In the early 1960s, Brystiger appears at a center for the blind outside Warsaw, a place frequented by Cardinal Wyszyński, whose imprisonment she personally oversaw from 1953 to 1956. During a tense encounter with the cardinal, Brystiger renounces communist ideology and seeks forgiveness for her crimes, desperately searching for spiritual redemption and guidance toward God. The film examines her transformation from ruthless enforcer to a woman confronting her past and seeking atonement.
