Camp Dread is a horror film that blends slasher nostalgia with reality-TV satire. Director Julian Barrett, whose gory Summer Camp trilogy dominated 1980s horror, attempts a comeback by staging a modern reboot at the original filming location. He casts his former leading lady alongside ten young contestants for what's billed as a reality-filmmaking competition. When one camper is brutally murdered, the group realizes the danger is real—and inescapable. As bodies pile up, the contestants discover they're trapped in a twisted game where survival means far more than winning fame or fortune. Camp Dread mines dark comedy from the collision between Barrett's washed-up legacy and genuine terror, asking whether horror fans will pay the ultimate price for entertainment.
