Final Move is a crime thriller that follows the LA police as they hunt a killer targeting people acquitted of violent crimes. Chess clues and DNA evidence at each scene point to a man recently executed for similar murders—yet the killings continue. Desperate, the department recruits Dan Marlowe, an ex-cop with psychic abilities now institutionalized after his traumatic involvement in the original case. His wife opposes his return to active duty, but his former partner and brother-in-law persuades him. An FBI agent and Dan's ex-lover joins the investigation, while Myron, Dan's chess-playing fellow patient, operates in the shadows. As Dan closes in on the truth, the killer's focus shifts to Dan and his family. The central question haunts the case: did police execute an innocent man years ago?
