Innate(2011)

Innate is a drama about guilt, forgiveness, and the weight of the past. Forty years after Joseph caused his childhood friend Ludkin to drown in a fight, Ludkin's mother Elsie remains consumed by grief and rage. As she lies on her deathbed, Elsie's final wish is to confront Joseph one last time. The film explores what happens when two people bound by tragedy and loss finally face each other after decades of silence. With time running out, Innate examines whether forgiveness is possible, or if some wounds cut too deep to ever heal. A meditation on how a single moment can define entire lives and relationships.
