İsyan(1979)

İsyan is a Turkish drama following Apo, a young man whose father dies stepping on a mine during a smuggling run for the village chief. Bound by fear, Apo's family cannot claim the body. Desperate to earn dowry money for his secret love, Ayno—the daughter of a local villager—Apo approaches the chief to join the dangerous smuggling trade himself. Caught between family obligation, forbidden romance, and the brutal authority of the chief who controls seven villages, Apo must navigate a world where survival means submission. The film explores themes of resistance and survival in a landscape shaped by poverty, power, and impossible choices.
