Lush(1999)

Lush is a crime comedy set in New Orleans, following Lionel Exley, a golf hustler and chronic drinker fresh out of an Arkansas jail. Back in the Big Easy, Ex befriends Firman Carter, a hard-drinking attorney, and attracts the attention of two wealthy sisters, Rachel and Ashley Van Dyke. As Ex stumbles through a haze of booze and blackouts, he encounters Carter's eccentric circle of local characters. When Carter vanishes and police turn their suspicion toward Ex, he's forced to confront reality and clear his name. The film balances dark humor with mystery as Ex navigates the murky line between his foggy recollections and what actually happened, all while trying to stay ahead of the law in a city where nothing is quite what it seems.
