Palmyra(2021)

Palmyra is a drama based on true events, following Arthur, a former military doctor living as a widower in a remote Dagestan mountain village. When he discovers his daughter Maryam has been recruited by a terrorist organization and fled to Syria, Arthur embarks on a dangerous journey to bring her home. Determined to save her at any cost, he ventures into hostile territory, navigating the complexities of war, extremism, and paternal love. The film explores the personal toll of radicalization on families and one man's desperate attempt to reclaim what he has lost. Palmyra captures both the intimate struggle of a father's devotion and the broader tragedy of those caught between ideology and survival in conflict zones.
