Weekend War(1988)

Weekend War is a military drama following a group of Army reservists deployed to Honduras on a construction mission. Tasked with building a runway, the unit is soon diverted to a remote village where they're ordered to repair a bridge as a personal favor to the US Ambassador. As Captain John Deason leads the engineering team into the field, he grows increasingly troubled by the true purpose behind their work. What begins as a straightforward humanitarian operation spirals into moral ambiguity, forcing Deason to confront uncomfortable questions about duty, loyalty, and who really benefits from their sacrifice. The film examines the tension between following orders and questioning authority, exploring how soldiers caught between military hierarchy and ethical concerns must navigate impossible choices in unfamiliar territory.
