Without Anesthesia(1978)

Without Anesthesia is a Polish drama about a prominent journalist whose political acumen makes him dangerous to those in power. When his enemies strip away his privileges, he faces a humiliating fall from grace that mirrors the collapse of his personal life. His wife of fifteen years, involved with a younger rival, demands a divorce without explanation. As he fumbles through attempts to salvage both his career and marriage, the journalist spirals into heavy drinking and isolation. His seminar is canceled, his students abandon him, and his once commanding presence dissolves into silence.
