Wrong Direction
Wrong Direction(1934)
Wrong Direction is a 1936 comedy short about a studio director caught between impossible demands. Edgar Kennedy plays a filmmaker summoned to direct the final scene of a picture, but not before his wife Florence and her mother dress him in ridiculous riding attire—breeches, beret, ascot, crop and boots. When he arrives at the studio, the outfit becomes the butt of jokes from cast and crew alike. Star Carol (Jean Fontaine) refuses to cooperate with Edgar and resists his direction, especially after learning he's restricted to just two shots per scene. Matters worsen when Florence, her mother, and Edgar's brother show up to watch him work. Caught between his meddling relatives and an uncooperative leading lady, Edgar finds himself forced to reshoot the same scene repeatedly, turning a simple assignment into comic chaos.
