Beauty Queens(2020)

Beauty Queens is a Filipino series that follows Miss Universe 1969 Dahlia Rodriguez-De Veyra as she hosts a dinner party to mark her late mother's centennial birthday. Her mother was crowned Miss Philippines 1939 and Manila's last Carnival Queen. Dahlia's three accomplished daughters are all international beauty pageant winners, while her youngest child is a transwoman whom the family's domineering matriarch disowned years ago, fracturing the family irreparably. As Dahlia attempts reconciliation, the gathering threatens to unearth three generations of buried secrets and resentments. Can she mend these fractured bonds, or will the evening only deepen the wounds that have kept them apart? The series explores family legacy, acceptance, and the cost of pride across generations.
