The Librarians follows Frances O'Brien, Head Librarian at the Middleton Interactive Learning Centre, as she navigates mounting crises on all fronts. Her demanding mother, battling dementia and a caustic temperament, has moved in, adding personal strain to her already stretched life. Meanwhile, the library itself teeters on the brink of closure. Forced to operate as a profitable business rather than a public service, the struggling institution must hit ambitious financial targets—a nearly impossible task when staff can barely get patrons to return books on time. As morale plummets and the pressure mounts, Frances must find a way to save both her workplace and her sanity.
