Lord of Imprisonment(1999)

Lord of Imprisonment is a Chinese series following divine catcher Tong Lin as he arrives in Gubeikou searching for his vanished wife. After rescuing Meikei Chi and Yan Jinwaner from bandits, he takes shelter at Yuelai Inn. When the innkeeper's wife mysteriously disappears, Tong Lin's investigation uncovers troubling connections to his own missing spouse and exposes a sprawling conspiracy reaching into the imperial guard itself.
