VH1 Divas(1998)

VH1 Divas is a concert series that launched in 1998 to raise funds for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. The annual event showcased performances by major female recording artists and ran through 2004 before taking a five-year break. The show returned in 2009 with a refreshed format targeting younger audiences. Subsequent editions honored different musical genres and causes—2010 saluted military troops, while 2011 celebrated soul music and nearly doubled its viewership. The 2012 edition, broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, featured dance music performances and tributes to Whitney Houston and Donna Summer. Each concert brought together some of the biggest names in music for one-off collaborations and memorable moments.
