Land of Glory(1992)

Land of Glory is a 1980s drama series following Zhang Yaocuo as his handbag factory faces collapse in Hong Kong. When his friend Chen Rongchang becomes a worker representative, tensions erupt with Zhang's father, prompting the two men to attempt a fresh start in their hometown. Zhang develops feelings for coworker Li Tong, but the venture crumbles, forcing them back to Hong Kong where financial ruin and his father's imprisonment compound their struggles. They rebuild in Shenzhen, establishing a successful factory while their relationship deepens. The series traces the personal toll of ambition as Zhang pursues an affair with Yao Zhaoran, leaving Li Tong to suffer in silence. When the factory eventually closes, Rongchang marries Zhang's sister only to betray her with his secretary, unraveling the bonds forged through years of shared hardship and sacrifice.
