Yang's Women Warriors(1993)

Yang's Women Warriors is a Hong Kong series set in the rural New Territories village of Yeung Lo Wai. When a police operation goes catastrophically wrong, all the men in Yu Meijun's family—who served as officers—are killed in a single tragedy. Left widowed and suddenly without support, Yu Meijun and the other women of the household must learn to fend for themselves. Bound by traditional values and conservative ways, they struggle to navigate a modern world that has moved far beyond their understanding. Their attempts at independence spark a series of comedic misadventures as these determined but out-of-step women discover resilience and unexpected strength in one another.
