Den överlägsne journalisten is a Swedish documentary series that chronicles the extraordinary career of investigative journalist Jan Guillou. In the 1970s, Guillou exposed the IB scandal—a major Swedish intelligence operation—in a series of groundbreaking articles that landed him in prison and cemented his place in press history. The series traces his journey from provocative pieces in men's magazines to his emergence as a fearless investigative reporter, broadcaster, and influential voice in Swedish public debate. Through interviews with former partner Marina Stagh, half-sister Pia Hansén, and colleagues including Staffan Heimerson, Britt-Marie Mattsson, Peter Bratt, and criminologist Leif GW Persson, the program reveals how Guillou's relentless pursuit of truth shaped modern Swedish journalism and challenged the establishment.
