Dead Man Weds(2005)

Dead Man Weds is a six-part British comedy series that aired on ITV in early 2005. Written by Dave Spikey, who starred in Phoenix Nights, the show follows the clash between new editor Gordon Garden and the perpetually lazy Lewis Donat at a small rural newspaper called The Fogburrow Advertiser. When Gordon arrives determined to modernise the office, Lewis—convinced the job should have been his—resists at every turn, preferring his established routine of long breaks, recycled stories, and gossip from Joan at the local cake shop. Produced by Red Production Company and filmed in Castleton, Derbyshire, Dead Man Weds pairs Spikey with Johnny Vegas in its two lead roles. The series takes its title from an actual headline that appeared in the Bolton Evening News, and uses a version of Jonathan King's "It's Good News Week" as its theme.
