The Castle of Sand(2011)

The Castle of Sand is a Japanese crime series set in 1960s Tokyo. When an elderly man is found beaten to death near Kamata Station, rookie detective Yoshimura Hiroshi has only one lead: the name "Kameda." Haunted by his own traumatic past in the war, Yoshimura must enter the killer's mindset to solve the case. Adapted from Seicho Matsumoto's acclaimed 1961 novel, the series explores the psychological toll of detective work and the blurred line between hunter and hunted. As Yoshimura digs deeper, his investigation forces him to confront both the darkness in others and within himself.
