JAPAN SINKS: People of Hope(2021)

Japan Sinks: People of Hope is a disaster series set in 2023 Tokyo, where Prime Minister Eiichi Higashiyama champions COMS, an experimental method to liquefy pollutants and store them beneath the ocean floor. To secure Japan's future, Higashiyama assembles a task force of promising young bureaucrats called the Japan Future Promotion Conference. Among its members are Keishi Amami from the Ministry of the Environment and Kōichi Tokiwa from the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry. As the team navigates environmental crises and political pressure, they must balance innovation with survival. The series explores whether cutting-edge solutions can save a nation facing catastrophic geological threats, blending techno-thriller tension with human drama as officials race against time.
