Science Ninja Team Gatchaman is a Japanese superhero anime series created by Tatsuo Yoshida and produced by Tatsunoko Productions in 1972. The show follows five ninja commandos who battle evil forces with advanced technology and martial arts skills. Known in English-speaking markets as Battle of the Planets, G-Force: Guardians of Space, and Science Commando Gatchaman, the series spawned multiple adaptations and sequels including Gatchaman II and Gatchaman Fighter. The original 1972 run was remade as a condensed OVA in 1994, while 90s English dubs rebranded episodes as Eagle Riders.
