Why Don't You? was a BBC children's series that ran for 42 series between 1973 and 1995, airing weekday mornings during school holidays. The show invited young viewers to write in with ideas for games, crafts, and activities, then featured groups of child presenters attempting them on air. Early episodes focused on straightforward arts-and-crafts projects and magic tricks; later series evolved into comedy sketches and drama-driven segments. Russell T Davies, who would later create Queer as Folk and revive Doctor Who, worked as a producer and director, steering the format toward more elaborate comedy.
