Bonde söker fru is a Swedish reality series that adapts the international Farmer Wants a Wife format. Single farmers invite potential partners to their farms for extended dates, with the hope of finding lasting romance. The show premiered in 2006 on TV4, drawing an impressive 1.5 million viewers per episode. Interested participants write to the farmers through the program before the main broadcast airs in autumn. From season two onward, the series expanded to include female farmers, and by season three in 2008, it featured its first gay farmer. When a relationship leads to marriage, viewers follow the journey on screen.
