Sir Bernard's Stately Homes(1999)

Sir Bernard's Stately Homes is a British comedy series that aired on BBC Two in 1998, running for just six 10-minute episodes. Written by and starring Matt Lucas and David Walliams, the show follows the eccentric Sir Bernard Chumley and his murderer companion Anthony Rogers as they tour English country estates in search of the mythical Golden Potato—a prize that promises a year's supply of Allen's Crisps. Each episode takes them to a different grand home, from Baxter Grange to Yates Castle, blending sketch comedy with absurdist humour. Directed by Edgar Wright, the series shares DNA with Rock Profile and would establish character templates Lucas later developed for Little Britain.
