Teen Regime(2022)

Teen Regime is a Japanese animated series set in a near-future Japan struggling with economic stagnation and global decline. Prime Minister Washida launches an experimental AI-driven governance project called Utopi-AI, which selects young leaders to govern deteriorating cities. The system bypasses the traditional barrier of political inexperience by using AI's vast data reserves to supplement what humans lack. Seventeen-year-old Maki Aran, idealistic but immature, is chosen as Prime Minister alongside other leaders in their twenties. Together, they navigate the challenges of urban renewal and political reform in their experimental city, UA, using AI guidance to implement sweeping changes. The series explores whether youth and artificial intelligence can succeed where established systems have failed.
