Shimura-ken is a Japanese comedy variety series that aired on Fuji TV from 2010 to 2012. The show centers on Ken Shimura, owner of a modest ramen shop in a working-class neighbourhood, alongside his wife Yuka. Their world expands to include Ryuhei Ueshima, a regular customer; Katsuhiro Higo, who runs a vintage coffee shop across the street; his wife Haruna Kondo; and Haruka Minowa, an imaginative part-timer. Set against the backdrop of these two neighbourhood shops, Shimura-ken mines everyday life for warmth and humour, delivering sketch-based comedy rooted in the rhythms of ordinary people.
