White Shadow(1973)

White Shadow is a Japanese medical drama following Noriko Shimura, a new resident at Gyoda Hospital, whose first shift introduces her to Yosuke Naoe, the duty doctor. When Noriko's childhood friend Jiro Toda arrives with a head wound from a fight, Naoe is nowhere to be found—he's out drinking. The situation spirals into chaos as Toda and the ambulance crew grow furious, prompting Naoe to lock the patient in a toilet to contain the disruption. Noriko is appalled by his callousness, yet becomes fascinated when she witnesses his surgical skill firsthand while treating Toda's injury.
