Goodbye My Dear(2022)

Goodbye My Dear is a Japanese series that explores what happens after death. Junior high school teacher Sakuraba Ayako wakes in a mysterious realm and learns she has died. A guide explains she has twenty-four hours to say goodbye to people from her life—but only those who don't yet know she's gone. Desperate to see her son and husband, Ayako discovers the rules are more complicated than she hoped. She visits her former teacher's home, only to find him long dead and his daughter Megumi there instead. As Ayako navigates this liminal space between worlds, she confronts which relationships truly matter and what unfinished business still binds her to the living. The series balances melancholy reflection with intimate human connection, asking what we'd say if given one final chance.
