Pasión y poder is a telenovela that traces decades of family conflict between two rival clans rooted in a love triangle. Years ago, Eládio Gómez Luna won Ana Laura's hand over Arturo Montenegro, but their marriage became a prison of abuse and neglect. Their son Federico offers Ana Laura her only comfort, standing apart from his father's cruelty. Arturo, meanwhile, married the shallow Nina after his first wife's death and built a business empire with her three children: Rogelio, Ana Karen, and Paulina. Consumed by corporate ambitions, Arturo remains blind to the systematic humiliation his second family inflicts on Pedro, his forgotten son from his first marriage.
