El-Turk is a historical drama following Balaban, a Janissary soldier who abandons the Ottoman army after the 1683 Battle of Vienna and settles in the Alpine village of Moena, northern Italy. The series explores themes of displacement, redemption, and cultural collision as Balaban navigates his new life far from the empire he once served.
