The Incident(2023)

The Incident is a Japanese legal drama that unfolds when a young woman running a small restaurant is found dead in a storage area. A 19-year-old man is quickly arrested and confesses to her murder, but the case takes a sharp turn when he recants his confession at trial. Veteran lawyer Daisaburo Kikuchi, a former judge, takes on the defense and begins digging into the circumstances surrounding the crime. As he investigates deeper, Kikuchi uncovers a far more complex truth than the initial confession suggested.
