Recipe of 49 Days(2011)

Recipe of 49 Days is a Japanese series about grief, family, and second chances. When Yuriko returns home after her adoptive mother's death, she plans to divorce her husband and support her grieving father. A mysterious young woman named Sachie arrives, claiming she was sent by the deceased to help the household for 49 days. She brings an unconventional request: instead of a traditional Buddhist memorial service, Otomi wants a grand feast prepared using a recipe she left behind. Skeptical at first, Yuriko and her father gradually embrace the idea as they discover the recipe's deeper meaning. Through cooking and shared meals, the family begins to heal, finding unexpected connections and new purpose in honoring Otomi's final wish.
