HMS Paradise(1964)

HMS Paradise is a rare early ITV sitcom set at a Royal Navy station on a remote island off the Dorset coast. Drawing clear inspiration from the popular radio series The Navy Lark, the show follows the misadventures of naval personnel where official duties take a backseat to chaos and comedy. Very little actual work gets done at the base, leaving plenty of room for absurd situations and character-driven humour. This largely forgotten gem captures the spirit of British sitcom from its era, blending military setting with gentle, anarchic comedy.
