Boyz Unlimited(1999)

Boyz Unlimited is a British comedy series created by David Walliams, Matt Lucas and Richard Osman. The six-part satire aired on Channel 4 in early 1999 and follows Nigel Gacey, a career criminal played by Frank Harper, who sets himself one year to form a boy band. The show skewers the music industry with dark humour as Gacey pursues his unlikely ambition. Despite its sharp premise, Boyz Unlimited struggled with audiences and critics alike, leading to its swift cancellation. The experience proved formative for its creators—Walliams and Lucas later avoided working with producer Hat Trick Productions for years, while Osman's confidence in his writing took a significant hit.
