Supermanoela(1974)

Supermanoela is a Brazilian series about a domestic worker who becomes far more than hired help. After her employer dies, Manoela agrees to work without pay for his widow Carolina, managing the household and finances while Carolina struggles to cope. To save the house from foreclosure, Manoela rents rooms to four university students preparing for entrance exams in Rio de Janeiro. When Marcelo, a charming young man nicknamed Belo, arrives and falls for Manoela, she discovers romance for the first time—and a chance to stop living for others and build a life of her own. The series balances comedy and heart as Manoela navigates her evolving role between caretaker and woman deserving of her own happiness.
