Nobel Prize Winner is an eight-episode series that chronicles writer Ivo Andrić during the autumn and winter of 1961, from his discovery that he'd won the Nobel Prize through his return to Belgrade from Stockholm. Each episode weaves two parallel narratives: Andrić's present-day preparations for the award ceremony, and subjective flashbacks to pivotal moments in his life that often coincided with turning points in his country's history. As he reflects on key encounters and decisions, Andrić questions and reevaluates his past with doubt and introspection. The series traces the significant—and lesser-known—paths he walked, the people who shaped him, and the places he inhabited, revealing how his personal journey became inseparable from Yugoslavia's own transformation.
