Kotovskiy(2010)

Kotovskiy is a Soviet film chronicling the formative years of the legendary commander Grigoriy Kotovskiy during Russia's twilight of tsarism. In 1900, a group of agricultural college students swear lifelong loyalty, only to diverge dramatically. While Oles pursues politics and Aleksey climbs the police ranks, Viktor and Kotovskiy turn to crime, with Kotovskiy emerging as a charismatic gang leader. Headstrong and romantic, he becomes the Robin Hood of Bessarabia, robbing the wealthy to aid the poor and earning mythic status across Southern Russia. A bounty on his head inevitably leads to capture and imprisonment, yet Kotovskiy escapes and resurfaces to reclaim his outlaw legend. The film traces his transformation from idealistic youth to celebrated revolutionary figure against the backdrop of imperial Russia's collapse.
