The Return of Shelley(1988)

The Return of Shelley is a British comedy series following the titular character as he flies back to the UK after nearly five years teaching in the Middle East. Landing in a transformed landscape of soaring rents, yuppies, and wine bars, Shelley struggles to adjust to this unfamiliar world. Yet his essential nature remains unchanged: quick-witted, charming, and fundamentally averse to hard work. The show captures his fish-out-of-water attempts to navigate a Britain he no longer recognizes, armed only with his sharp humor and questionable work ethic.
