Jake and The Kid(1995)

Jake and the Kid is a Canadian drama series that aired on CanWest Global in the 1990s. Set in the small Saskatchewan town of Crocus, the show follows young Ben "the Kid" Osborne as he grows up on a farm with his widowed mother Julia. When Jake Trumper, a farmhand, arrives at their property, he becomes Ben's closest friend and a father figure the boy desperately needs. Based on W.O. Mitchell's 1961 short story collection, this adaptation captures rural life through the eyes of its two central characters as they navigate hardship, friendship, and belonging in their tight-knit farming community.
