AfterMASH(1983)

AfterMASH is a sitcom that aired on CBS from 1983 to 1984, following three characters from the original M*A*S*H series as they adjust to life after the Korean War. Colonel Potter, Klinger, and Father Mulcahy navigate their new roles at a stateside hospital, joined by Klinger's Korean wife Soon-Lee and the off-camera voice of Kellye Nakahara. The show premiered in M*A*S*H's Monday night slot and initially found an audience, finishing tenth in the Nielsen ratings for its first season. CBS moved AfterMASH to Tuesday nights for season two, hoping to compete with NBC's The A-Team, but the strategy backfired. Ratings collapsed, and the network canceled the show after just nine episodes of its second season. While AfterMASH couldn't sustain its predecessor's legacy, it remains a curious footnote in television history—a spin-off that couldn't escape the shadow of one of TV's most beloved series.
