Believe Nothing(2002)

Believe Nothing is a British sitcom starring Rik Mayall as Quadruple Professor Adonis Cnut, Britain's cleverest man and Oxford's leading moral philosopher. Bored despite commanding huge fees for his government consultations, Cnut joins The Council, a shadowy organization that controls world events. Michael Maloney plays his faithful servant Brian Albumen, while Emily Bruni takes the role of Dr. Hannah Awkward, a newly appointed professor of pedantics. Written by Maurice Gran and Laurence Marks, the series offers a comedic spin on contemporary global issues. Despite ITV's high hopes of repeating the success of their earlier Mayall collaboration, The New Statesman, Believe Nothing failed to find an audience and was cancelled after a single series.
