Flowers for Algernon(2015)

Flowers for Algernon is a Japanese drama series following Shiratori Sakuto, a 28-year-old man with the intellectual capacity of a six-year-old who works at a flower distribution centre. When he and a colleague deliver roses to Mochizuki Haruka's apartment, she's startled by his condition and nearly calls the police. Haruka works at a brain research institute where Professor Hachisuka Daigo has developed a surgical procedure that dramatically increases mental capacity, successfully tested on a laboratory mouse named Algernon. Sakuto undergoes the same operation and transforms into a genius. But when Algernon's enhanced intelligence begins to deteriorate and the mouse dies, Sakuto faces a devastating realisation: his own genius is temporary, and he will inevitably return to his former self.
