The Ping Pong Club(1995)

The Ping Pong Club is an anime series following six misfits at Inaho Jr. High who must band together to save their ping pong team from dissolution. Takeda is the levelheaded anchor, while Kinoshita trades on his good looks. The others—Tanabe, Tanaka, Maena, and Izawa—are social outcasts whose wild behavior has made them rivals throughout school. With only the minimum membership required to keep their club alive, these unlikely teammates face pressure to prove themselves on and off the table. Despite clashing personalities and a reputation for chaos, they discover that unity might be their only shot at retaining their practice room and club status. The series balances comedy with genuine heart as the group learns what it means to belong.
