Merry Mary follows Kang Dae Gu, a struggling novelist who writes martial arts stories but is actually unemployed. Years earlier, while preparing for his bar exam as a law student, Dae Gu witnessed his lawyer friend's suicide—a trauma that shattered his ambitions. He abandoned his legal career and turned to writing instead, crafting tales of chivalry as a way to escape his painful past.
