The Wingless Bird(1997)

The Wingless Bird is a period drama set on the eve of World War I, following Agnes Conway as she navigates family troubles and rigid class divisions. Managing both her family's business and its crises, Agnes finds the courage to help her sister Jessie marry beneath their station. When the gentleman Charles Farrier begins courting her despite his parents' objections, Agnes must decide whether she can defy convention again. Her resolve wavers further when she develops feelings for Charles's soldier brother Reginald, forcing her to choose between duty, love, and the life she's fought to build.
