Wasted Land(2009)

Wasted Land follows Iki Tadashi, a Japanese military leader imprisoned by the Soviets during World War II and condemned as a war criminal. After eleven brutal years in a Siberian labor camp, Tadashi returns to Japan determined to leave his past behind. He refuses a lucrative offer from a former colleague to join a defense project, choosing instead to rebuild his life as a civilian working for a major trading company. His family welcomes this fresh start, yet Tadashi must navigate the complexities of reintegration in postwar Japan while wrestling with the trauma of his captivity and the weight of his wartime legacy.
