Texaco Star Theater is an American comedy-variety show that became a landmark of early television. Originally a radio program from 1938 to 1949, it made the leap to NBC in June 1948 and ran until 1956, becoming one of the first major hits of the medium. The show is best remembered for launching Milton Berle to stardom and earning him the enduring title "Mr. Television."
